FAQ

The domain name cannot be resolved even if a local DNS server is set in the network settings of BRAVIA.

If you set the following DNS settings, the private domain name may not be resolved.

  • Primary DNS: Local DNS Server IP address
  • Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4

This is an Android TV spec.
DNS over TLS is supported from Android 9.0, so DNS servers which support secure connection have higher priority than non-secure DNS servers.
Therefore, Google public DNS 8.8.4.4 has higher priority than the local DNS server during domain name resolution.
As a result, the private domain name cannot be resolved.
If you want to use a local DNS server, please set Secondary DNS to the same local DNS server IP address as follows.

  • Primary DNS: Local DNS Server IP address
  • Secondary DNS: Local DNS Server IP address
