Disable Suspend
What is Suspend?
BRAVIA Professional Displays include a “Suspend state” designed to minimize standby power consumption when the display is turned off.
By default, this state shuts down most background services, including network communication.
To keep these functions always available, Suspend can be disabled so that the display remains accessible over the network at all times.

Power-Off Behavior
When the display enters Suspend state, network services are stopped, which prevents the display from being powered on via REST API or commands.
| Default power state | Display | WebAppRuntime | IP Control |
|---|---|---|---|
| Screen ON | ON | Running | Available |
| Screen OFF | OFF | Running | Available |
| Sleep | OFF | Suspended | Available |
| Suspend | OFF | Stopped | Unavailable |
| AC OFF | OFF | Stopped | Unavailable |

Methods to Disable Suspend
If any of the following settings is enabled, the suspend state is disabled and normal operation remains possible, regardless of how many settings are configured.
Note:
*Disabling the suspend state increases standby power consumption.
1. Enable [Charge USB during Standby mode]
Enables charging of the USB-connected device even when the monitor is turned off. This setting disables the suspend state.
Procedure: [Settings] → [Pro settings] → [Charge USB during Standby mode]
2. Enable SSIP
SSIP is a proprietary protocol for BRAVIA Professional Displays. Enabling this disables the suspend state.
Procedure: [Settings] → [Network & Internet] → [Local network] → [IP control] → [Simple IP control]
3. Always enable [Wake-up on signal]
Procedure: [Pro settings] → [Wake-up on signal]
4. Enable “Standby” Status by Serial control
When using serial control (RS-232C) in combination, enabling ‘Standby’ status via a serial control command can disable the suspend state.
Recovery Method
If the display enters Suspend before any of the above could be enabled, to restore power, use Wake-on-LAN (WoL) or power on using IR Remote.
Guidance is available for using the REST API of BRAVIA Professional Displays, including IRCC-IP.
